A hotel in the Bintan area of the Riau Islands sought an iconic piece to represent the unique character of its location. Given its proximity to the beach and the presence of abundant mangroves, we conceived an abstract representation of these natural elements. We arranged various sections of mangrove roots in a circular composition, allowing the sculpture to be appreciated from all angles. The design does not aim to directly resemble mangroves or their roots but instead captures the essence of something deeply rooted, emerging from beneath the water. The result is a form that evokes the spirit of mangroves without imitating them literally, offering a thoughtful and artistic interpretation.
